The Public Security Police (PSP) in Olhão arrested an individual and identified two other suspects on Wednesday this week,following a crime of robbery with assault.
According to the PSP, the police intervention occurred after a telephone call to the local police station reported that three individuals were assaulting two citizens and stealing their personal property.
Police were immediately mobilised and, after contacting the victims and gathering initial information, located the suspects near the scene.
Upon approach, the three individuals fled on foot in different directions. However, one of them was intercepted and detained, and some of the stolen property was found in his possession.
In the hours that followed, the PSP continued its investigation, locating and identifying the two remaining suspects. During these operations, more items belonging to the victims were also recovered, confirming their involvement in the crime.
The initial detained individual, who has an extensive history of criminal activities of various natures, was brought before the court the following day, and the most severe coercive measure was applied to him: preventive detention.
