A 45 year old man died on Saturday evening, in the fishing channel area of Pescadores beach, in Armação de Pêra. The cause of his death are still unknown.
The alert was given to emergency services at 8:24 pm on Saturday, with elements of the Local Command of the Portimão Maritime Police, the Emergency and Resuscitation Medical Vehicle (VMER) and operatives from the Silves Volunteer Firefighters sent to the scene.
On their arrival, the victim had already been removed from the water in cardiorespiratory arrest, and was undergoing resuscitation by a doctor who was in the area. After several attempts, the situation was unsuccessful, and the VMER doctor declared the man dead at the scene.
The man'sbody was transported by the Fire Department to the Barlavento Forensic Medical Office.
The Maritime Police Psychology Office is providing support to the victim's family.
