Two young German tourists who were trapped on a cliff near Cabanas Velhas beach, in Budens, were rescued by Vila do Bispo Volunteer Firefighters.
The rescue occured earlier this on Monday, August 4th, with the corporation's Wide Angle and Drone Rescue teams being involved.
“The effective maneuvers associated with the operation allowed the two young people to be successfully rescued,” said the Vila do Bispo Fire Department in a Facebook post.
Elements of the Maritime Police were also involved in the operation.
Emergency services appeal to the population, especially tourists, to avoid risky behaviour near the coast, because a small oversight can be fatal.
