Following the recent restrictions on the sale of alcoholic beverages for consumption on public roads in Albufeira, the Food and Economic Safety Authority carried out 'Operation Safe Night' in Albufeira last week, involving inspections of the sale of alcoholic beverages.
The new restrictions put in place by Albufeira City Council, now restrict “the sale of alcoholic beverages for consumption on public roads, in certain areas of the city with a high tourist influx, between 11 pm and 8 am, with the exception of cafes, bars, restaurants and nightclubs, which may sell alcoholic beverages and related products, during the period in question, exclusively for consumption inside them”.
15 premises were inspected, with 9 offences discovered, resulting in the closure of their activity, for failure to comply with the the new operating hours restrictions.
ASAE also seized several foodstuffs, as they did not meet the conditions required for consumption or sale.
The action was carried out with the collaboration of the GNR's Albufeira Territorial Detachment.
