Having been closed since March this year, due to big cracks and the risk of landslides on the road, repairs to the EN120 in Odeceixe began on Friday.

The road being closed has been "a situation that has caused significant constraints to the municipality of Aljezur and, in particular, to the town of Odeceixe", the municipality said in a statement. After several meetings with Infraestruturas de Portugal (IP) having initiated "communications and conversations, always in a posture of close collaboration with the responsible entities, but never letting the matter fall into oblivion", the council says it is with "great satisfaction" that the intervention moves forward, recognizing the "commitment and availability demonstrated by those responsible for IP during the process".
"We are confident that the work will proceed normally and within the established timeframes, allowing traffic to be restored on the EN 120 soon. We will continue, as we have done so far, to collaborate constructively, but we will also demand solutions that guarantee the safety and quality of our infrastructure in the future," stated President José Gonçalves.
The work, with a completion period of 90 days, at a cost of €737,000.
