On 23rd December 2023, an Indian man was voilently attacked in Cabanas de Tavira. Over two years later, the incident is progressing through the courts, but those involved are asking any witnesses to now come forward please.
A woman involved in that attack, is now seeking witnesses and further information, as the facts currently being presented do not fully reflect what happened.
"On the evening in question, I was out with friends at Quasis Bar. One of our friends, Geo, arrived already injured, having previously been attacked on two separate occasions by the same group. We attempted to take him home safely.
While walking to get a taxi, we went behind the bar, where Geo was attacked again. He was knocked to the ground and repeatedly kicked, appearing unconscious. I tried to intervene, asking them to stop, but was then attacked myself and knocked to the floor, receiving blows from multiple individuals.
Before I lost consciousness, I also saw my partner being attacked. He later suffered serious injuries, including broken ribs, and the impact of the incident has been long-lasting for all involved.
There are videos of the initial attacks circulating, as well as further footage involving the same group. However, as this case is now proceeding to court, I am seeking any witnesses who were present that evening who may be able to provide an accurate account of events.
In particular, I am trying to identify and thank a man of mixed race, who came to assist us during the incident.
This was an extremely traumatic experience, and while I hope for accountability, I also genuinely hope that those involved can learn from this and move forward in a better way.
