New bookings website launched for Algarve hotels

hotel3“To maximise revenue, to promote the Algarve as a tourist destination and to reduce sales costs” are the noble objectives of a new online sales website created by the Algarve’s hotels and tourist association.

The AHETA’s blub outlines the "increasing demands imposed by online holiday buyers, combined with new trends of tourism markets needing strategies to increase the exposure of hotels to digital customers, a segment which rapidly is growing in the worldwide holiday market."

The new website is only available in Portuguese, with an English version that has yet to be proof read, and is fronted by AHETA.

The new site is live at www.algarvebooking.com with an initial 130 Algarve hotels and other tourist enterprises.

To AHETA, "the great Algarve tourism challenge is not just a repositioning of its tourism, but to market the available capacity in order to minimise the biggest weakness of regional tourism, seasonality, and to restore the financial sustainability of companies."

The website has been designed to "save time and to contain the best offers, so there is no need to shop around, our rates are the lowest available anywhere - guaranteed."

"In recent years we have seen a very significant increase in sales through digital channels, with particular emphasis on those carried out directly or through the websites of owned hotels and tourist enterprises, while traditional marketing channels are stagnating and declining," adds the hotel association with its finger firmly on the pulse of modern consumer behaviour.
