A man died on Thursday night after he crashed his motorbike at a poorly marked and unlit roundabout under construction.
The section of road is at the intersection of the EN125 in Vale de Boi, in the Vila do Bispo council area.
The road and new roundabout has poor signage, besides having no additional safety lighting.
The victim was going to Sagres to collect his partner who works there. She was concerned that he had not arrived and sent friends to see if there had been an accident.
The 45-year-old man was discovered at the roundabout, lifeless and an emergency call was made.
Vila do Bispo bombeiros and an INEM ambulance were soon at the scene but nothing could be done.
