Loulé’s ‘White Night’ is to go ahead this year

whitenightOn the August 29th, the last Saturday of the season, the hugely popular White Night returns to Loulé billed as the official farewell party to a scorching summer.

The council-sponsored event has had a chequered history through recent years of austerity but with council finances in better shape, the mayor and councillors agreed that the event should go ahead as it boosts local trade and makes everyone happy.

The Loulé event was the first White Night extravaganza in the Algarve and is marked by an extensive musical programme for the thousands that dress up in white and take to the streets.

More than a hundred street artists this year will give some colour to the party with jugglers, fire eaters, clowns, magicians, musicians, gymnasts and dancers.

"Dress in white, take time to have fun with family and friends at the official Algarve Summer farewell party" said the Municipality of Loulé, noting that this is one of the events in the Algarve that has no entry fee.
