Portimão the poor relation at Cruise Shipping Miami

The event took place from 16 to 19 March and brought together more than 900 exhibitors representing 127 countries which have grasped the importance of this tourism sector, unlike Portugal.

Dissatisfaction mounts in Brazil

Finance Minister Maria Luís Albuquerque said on Wednesday that public debt "is indeed still very high, but today we have the comfort of knowing we have the full coffers."

Armed robbery at Algarve Shopping

algarveshoppingThree masked men, at least one of them armed, robbed the watch shop 'Boutique dos Relógios' inside the Algarve Shopping centre in Guia yesterday evening.

The men entered the shop at around 19.30, one stayed near the door as look out and the other two forced staff to lie on the floor.

VIP Taxpayers List had 'political endorsement'

nuncioThe accusations are flying in the VIP Taxpayers List scandal as Paulo Ralha, the taxpayers union boss, said today that of course there was a list and that it was drawn up by senior officials and had "political endorsement."

Paul Ralha added that the Secretary of State for Fiscal Affairs, Paulo Nuncio, (pictured) is unable to continue in office as he knew about the list and is still denying its existence.

BES collapse - Salgado says it's all the Bank of Portugal's fault

Stopping well short of any sort of an apology, Salgado ‘regretted’ what happened to customers and workers, and vowed to fight for his honor and that of his family, adding that he it's nothing to do with money.

Golden Visa appeal fails for Anes

GoldenVisaThe former secretary-general of the Ministry of Justice, Maria Antónia Anes is to remain under house arrest as her appeal to have her electronic bracelet removed and bail conditions relaxed has failed.

The Court of Appeal under Judge Francisco Caramelo today rejected her lawyer’s defense and Anes remains subject to the same conditions as before after she was arrested in November 2014 in the Golden Visa round up of bent state employees.
