Brits to search for illegal workers

North Korea sets its own time

clockNorth Korea has said it will change time by moving its clocks back by 30 minutes to create Pyongyang Standard Time.

The move is to coincide with the 70th anniversary of Korea’s liberation from Japanese rule, according to the KCNA news agency, and will take effect on 15 August.

EasyJet to change cabin baggage rules

baggagehandlersPassengers flying with easyJet will no longer be guaranteed that their hand luggage will be placed in the cabin. Carry-on could be put instead into the hold even if they are within the size limit.

Bags within the size regulations put in the hold will incur no additional charge, but it means the owners will have to queue at the baggage carousel on arrival.

Riot police called to BES depositors' demonstration

besOver a dozen van loads of Portugal’s feared riot police were called out today to stop a crowd of angry protestors from storming Novo Banco’s head office in Lisbon.

During the demonstration an appeal was made to the prime minister that he should make a decision before the election that "respects fairness and social responsibility" and hand them their money back.

Asian hornets threaten European honey

Their activities have caused the production of honey to plummet to a record low as beekeepers have been unable to protect hives from attack.
