Set alight a satellite!

UK TV channels goneThe long-time promised severance of radio and TV transmissions from UK’s National Broadcaster (BBC) has been followed by a similar withdrawal of transmissions by ALL their competitive commercial TV stations.

No doubt the latter will not advise their sponsors that they can reduce their respective monetary contributions, as some 3 to 4 million (Western EU from Sweden down to Gibraltar) viewers or maybe purchasers are no more! Such folk being not solely British-born spend some or all of their lives on the European Continent.

LBC (London Commercial Radio Station) are able to transmit to The Algarve, why not BBC?

Surely many years after of such technical expertise of “radar” and/or “going to the moon”; there must be a way of these UK programme providers continuing to transmit?

The past listening or watching of such programmes provided a “daily link” with relations, friends, fellow nationals, both country and county of origin (the current flooding is a fine example), and it is my contention that there must be a strong case of Human Rights infringement by the aforementioned Radio and TV undertakings.

In addition, the fact that the majority of immigrants are retirees and that the UK Government is to withdraw “Winter Heating Allowances” because certain fellow EU Member States experience warmer winters!
I offer a “cold welcome” to any Westminster MP to come and stay in my accommodation from late October until each following March and see if he/she believes there is no need for indoor heating, or perhaps, elect to “turn on the heat” and pay a +/- 400% recently increased IVA on electricity charges!

Hopefully, a legal minded reader who agrees with these opinions may be prepared to spearhead our case to Brussels, obtaining, I am certain, unbelievable support.
