September's meeting place was São Bras de Alportel. It was a good turn-out with 30 riders, including a few new members taking part. Riders formed into two groups making the ride more manageable, enjoyable and safe.
Everything began 15 years ago, in 2008, with a woman’s dream : create from scratch a Barbershop chorus, here in Algarve, where nobody knew what it was about. What ? Singing with the barbers, in their shops?!??!
I was delighted to attend the Eastern Algarve Summer lunch for the Portugal Branch of the Royal British Legion. It was held at Restaurante Nora Velha in Tavira and they did us proud with a lovely selection of tapas accompanied by two superb wines. It was great to see several new faces - now targets to become our newest recruits - and of course our lovely regular attendees, some of whom travelled quite a way to attend the event.
For one of the longer rides of this year the Algarve Senior Bikers met earlier than usual at São Marcos de Serra, this allowed their arrival in the cooler temperatures of the west shortly after a pause for refreshments and any necessary refueling in Colos.
Estoi Palace International Rotary Club (RCEPI) held its annual Presidential handover on 27th June at the Wine Bistro in Vilasol. After the flag ceremony and introductions, 40 guests enjoyed an excellent meal provided by Ricardo and Lucy together with their fantastic team.
Last week, on Wednesday 14th of June 2023, at the Cavalry & Guards Club in central London, The Treaty of London Dinner celebrated the 650th anniversary of the signing of the Treaty of London in 1373 between England and Portugal.
After an interruption of 4 years due to Covid, Rotary Club Estoi Palace International, (RCEPI) reconnected with its traditional White dinner earlier this month.
