The Royal British Legion has been helping Service people past and present for the last 90 years. The Legion is the major voice for Service and ex-Service people throughout the year. We are custodians of Remembrance, ensuring that those who gave their lives for the freedom we enjoy today are always remembered. We welcome men and women of all ages, whether or not they have served in the Armed Forces.
In 1980 we were the first animal protection society to be established in the Algarve. We do not euthanase until the animal itself decides that life is not worth living, and therefore feel we are entitled to call ourselves a Sanctuary.
Associação Cadela Carlota & Companhia are a non-profitable animal protection charity based in Lagos and the Western Algarve with a protocol with Lagos Camara and work closely with the Lagos Canil to help and re-home abandoned animals.

Algarve Photographers is a multi-national group of friendly, enthusiastic photographers who meet alternate Thursdays at the Museum in São Brás do Alportal, except when field photo trips are planned when we may meet elsewhere.
We are an officially registered Portuguese charity that supports underprivileged children (and their families) in the Algarve, through a network of volunteers and in association with a number of social partnerships and aid associations.
