The Saint Andrew’s Society of the Algarve is delighted to announce that we will be having our Ball on Saint Andrew’s Day, Saturday 30th November. Once again it will be at the marvellous 5-star Penina Hotel, which always looks after us so very well.

This November, Figs on the Funcho is hosting a series of immersive experiences that celebrate Ottolenghi-inspired cuisine and local Algarve wines. 

Walking Football is becoming very popular in the Algarve, with both men's and women's teams. It is perfect for people aged between 50 and 80 who want to play a sport without injuring themselves. 

On Tuesday 5th November, the Algarve Archaeological Association (AAA) will be presenting two lectures, in English, by Miguel Martinho from EDIA (Empresa de Desenvolvimento e Infra-estruturas do Alqueva). The first lecture will be at 2.30pm at the Museu do Traje in São Bras de Alportel, the second lecture will be at 6pm at the Convento de São José in Lagoa.

The Algarveans Theatre Group is only a couple of weeks away from raising the curtain on its forthcoming, nearly sold out (additional date added!) production of Sister Act the Broadway musical, based on the hit film starring Whoopi Goldberg.

BLiP Expo 2024 was a Resounding Success - afpop, organisers of the Better Living in Portugal Exhibition (BLiP Expo) say that, in spite of gloomy and rainy weather forecasts and an hour long power cut at the height of the event on the Saturday, participating exhibitors and scores of visitors were extremely positive about their experience and the value of attending the event over last weekend.

The Algarveans’ production of Sister Act the Broadway show, based on the hit film starring Whoopi Goldberg, promises to deliver an all-singing, all-dancing, all-fun night out at the theatre.

The Svetlana Bakushina Fusion Project will perform their album, Algarvia, on November 2nd at 7:00 PM, at the Carlos do Carmo Auditorium in Lagoa.
