Silves Market is to be renovated with the tendering process published today by the local Council.
The Council (pictured) led by Rosa Palma, stated that €808,083 is available for the complete refurbishment of the market.
Companies that want to bid for the work have 30 days to submit their detailed proposals for the refurbishment and upgrade of the Mercado Municipal de Silves.
Once awarded, the contract needs to be completed within eight months.
The building is an example of Estado Novo architecture, the style of which is known as 'Suave Portuguese' - especially visible on the roof of the building and on the armillary sphere next to the coat of arms of the city.
