The number of cases reported over the past 14 days will raise Tavira municipality to Extremely High Risk Covid-19. It is the worst result so far during pandemic, and puts Tavira as one of the highest Covid-19 risk levels in the country.
Tavira has 593 confirmed cases of the disease caused by SARS-CoV-2 since the beginning of the pandemic, of which 200 - more than a third - were registered in the last five days.
Tavira is currently at Moderate Risk, but the municipality reportsed today that the municipality cases have exceeded the level of Extremely High Risk (from the 236 cases for Tavira).
The municipality of Tavira now has 266 cases accumulated between the period of December 20th to January 2nd, 47 more new cases in the last 24 hours.
As for deaths, there are 4 registered, the same as the day before. The number of cases recovered in the last 24 hours is now 347, 12 more than in the last bulletin released.
An outbreak in one of Tavira's homes and another among users of a public gym are identified as the cause of the "exponential increase" of registered cases.
The parish priest of Tavira, Father Miguel Neto, asked citizens for "responsibility" at this time of pandemic, reminding them of the serious epidemiological situation in the municipality.
"At this moment, Tavira faces a serious situation regarding the Covid-19 disease, caused by the SARS CoV-2 virus. We think that we all behave appropriately and carefully, but if we did, we would not be suffering and living with such sad numbers. This shows that our behavior has an influence on the lives of others, on social peace, on the way we live in society. The obligation of the Christian is not his individual experience of Faith, but his community experience, translated into concrete acts in favor of others and that implies a concern for the common good, for peace, for true peace ", reflects Father Miguel Neto.

You probably won't be around when they unfold if you insist on ignoring what is happening around you.
Except that the article above reads "
An outbreak in one of Tavira's homes and another among users of a public gym are identified as the cause of the "exponential increase" of registered cases."
Think on!!!
I sort of see the point you're making, but x number of cases detected in any given area is surely context enough to state that on a per capita basis it fits in such and such a category, reagardless of whether you or I disagree with the system. And, unless they've tested the exact population number in Tavira, it's quite likely there are more cases as yet undetected, not fewer.
Quoting David. Nonsense piled on nonsense as cover for real events unfolding.
What real events unfolding? Surprise me, please.
Dread to think what it would be like if they hadn't done it. But unless it affects you or your family it will never sink in.
Next week they intend to test the sixth form students to see how prevalent it is in the schools because a lot of teachers are affected.
Whatever you may have heard you can catch it from an asymptomatic person.
The figures would make so much more sense if put into context, i.e. percentage of tests showing positive rather than just stating raw numbers.
