The Municipality of Silves have provided a much needed ambulance to the Volunteer Firefighters of São Bartolomeu de Messines.
The Silves council offered the ambulance to the Humanitarian Association of Volunteer Firefighters of São Bartolomeu de Messines, in an investment that cost 67,000 euros.
The vehicle key delivery ceremony was attended by the mayor, of Silves, Rosa Palma, the vice-president of the Humanitarian Association's board, António Pedro Mealha and two representatives of the Messines fire department.
According to the Silves council, offering the vehicle - "equipped with advanced equipment and conditions" - allows the Fire Brigade to improve its operational capacity and provide a higher quality service in providing assistance to the population.
