The body of a 62 year old Mozambican man was found floating in the fishing port of Olhão yesterday morning, by a member of the public.
The person who discovered the body alerted the authorities at approximately 9.30am yesterday morning. The Maritime Police and members of the Olhão Lifeguard Station were dispatched immediately to the scene, and removed the body from the water.
Captain of the Port of Olhão, Alexandre Algarvio, said that "the body was identified" through documentation that was in his possession, he was a resident in Olhão.
According to the same source, the body “did not show visible signs of violence, so the cause of death is so far unknown”.
The mans body was transported to the Instituto Médico-Legal in Faro, to determine the causes of his death.
