Portugal's MotoGP weekend receives the most people ever

PORTUGAL'S MOTOGP WEEKEND RECEIVES THE MOST PEOPLE EVERThe director of the Autódromo Internacional do Algarve (AIA), Paulo Pinheiro, has said that this weekends' Portuguese MotoGP Grand Prix in Portimão “exceeded the expected attendance”, receiving close to 200,000 people making it the largest ever motor event in Portimão since the race track opened 15 years ago.

Spanish rider Jorge Martin (Ducati) won this second race of the World Speed ​​Championship, in which Portuguese rider Miguel Oliveira (Aprilia) finished ninth.
Martin took the lead right at the start, spending 40 minutes in the lead, with the Italian Enea Bastianini (Ducati) in second place and the Spanish Pedro Acosta (GasGas) in third.

With these results, Martin takes the lead in the championship, with 60 points, 18 more than South African Brad Binder, who is second.

Miguel Oliveira said he has a “heart full”, due to all the support of the Portuguese public, although the result was not what he wanted. “I have no words to describe all the support the public has shown. It was simply a dream weekend, despite the result. I know that the support is unconditional and my heart is full for it”, said Oliveira.

Oliveira currently occupies 14th place in the World Championship, with 8 points, 52 behind the leader, Jorge Martin.
