The Faro PSP arrested a 22 year old man late on Tuesday night in Faro, suspected of having committed murder in Germany.
In a statement, the PSP say that after being informed about the man being in a restaurant in the city centre of Faro, police resources were sent to verify his identity.
The suspect was located outside the establishment, but when he noticed the police presence, he tried to flee but was intercepted by the officers.
Following additional investigations, it was possible to verify that the man is suspected of causing the death of his mother, on March 27, in a German city and has a pending European arrest warrant, issued by the German authorities.
The man is awaiting his extradition in a prison establishment, after having been brought before the Court of Appeal of Évora.
