Seven crew members of a pleasure boat that was sinking off Carvoeiro beach were rescued yesterday, June 15th, by the Ferragudo Lifeguard.
According to the National Maritime Authority (AMN), the alert was received at 5:36 pm. “Crew members from the Ferragudo Lifeguard Station were immediately called to the scene,” said the AMN, adding that the Portimão Maritime Police, members of the “SeaWatch” Project and the Lagoa Volunteer Firefighters were also mobilised.
“Upon arrival at the scene, the crew of the Lifeboat Station rescued the seven people who had been shipwrecked from the pleasure boat, transporting them to the Ferragudo Lifeboat Station, where they were assisted by firefighters”, explains AMN.
“The sunken pleasure boat was towed to the beach by a nearby vessel, and the owner later removed it”.
The Local Command of the Portimão Maritime Police took charge of the incident.
