In an operation carried out last week, to monitor dangerous vehicles and dangerous driving, 20 vehicles were seized by the GNR in the Algarve.
The GNR say the operation was to track down "car and motorcycle drivers", who perform "maneuvers and stunts that may put the physical integrity of the participants themselves at risk, aswell as other road users and third parties".
The inspection operation targeting this phenomenon culminated in the seizure of 20 vehicles, including eight motorcycles.
In addition, 55 reports of violations of the Highway Code and complementary legislation were drawn up, three reports for lack of mandatory periodic inspection; another three for irregularities in the tyres and two for lack of sufficient legal qualification to drive.
This operation was developed by the Faro Traffic Detachment and was reinforced by the Intervention Detachment (DI).
The GNR guarantees that it will continue with this type of operations.
