Portuguese stranded abroad with zero compensation from Ryanair

ryanair2Consumer organisation Deco and Portugal's National Civil Aviation Authority both have received complaints from passengers affected by the cancellation of Ryanair flights.

Many Portuguese nationals are being disadvantaged by the Irish carrier, as meals, hotel stays and associated costs such as phone calls are not being met.

Jerónimo Martins director detained in Colombia on corruption charges

pingoThe director of operations of ARA, a supermarket company belonging to Pingo Doce owner Jerónimo Martins (Est. 1792), has been arrested and detained by the Colombian police on corruption charges.

The case was reported by the company itself which stated that “Jerónimo Martins Colombia had denounced to the Colombian authorities the existence of a potential private corruption case, to their benefit and the detriment of Company, that was detected by internal systems."

In an order dated August 10, 2017, just published in Diário da República, Defence Minister José Azeredo Lopes authorised spending a maximum of €7.07 million for "the upgrading of the Black Shark-type combat torpedoes for the Trident-class submarines, in order to allow the continuation and increase of the operability and use of submarine defences."

Despite major motorcycle races taking place in Britain and Spain the Autodrome still managed a significant increased attendance in excess of 30% over the 2015 figures as vehicles from across the country and Europe descended upon the Algarve track. The car park was packed with Spanish registered machines who had skipped the racing in Jerez to hop across the border.

The final total of 41.922 people over the weekend witnessed the fastest laps ever recorded around the Portimao circuit, a spectacular fireball, extremely close races plus a moment in history being made.
