Madrugada Celebrates 6th Birthday with new logo

MadrugadaDesigned by Suzi Steinhofel of Design Works, the new logo is fresh and light whilst capturing the imagination and reflecting the charity’s ethos beautifully.

Now in its fifth year of charitable service the association and its home based palliative care services is becoming a household name. Madrugada’s professional clinical team has supported and cared for over sixty people living in the West and Central region of the Algarve who chose to remain in their own home for end of life care. The positive impact of this provision is being felt by patients and their families as the team extends the emotional, spiritual and social support to close family members and carers.

Christina Vandermeulen can certainly Walk the Walk!

Christina VandermeulenThis Vale da Telha resident and Amovate member has already walked from Brussels to Paris—and from Paris to Brussels, taking just four days each time!
Christina has also completed Belgian’s famous Dodentocht (‘Walk of the Dead’), a 100km trek which has to be done in 24 hours and for which some competitors set off from the start line carrying coffins!
The gruelling walk derives its name from the length of the march and the rough and forested terrain the walkers pass through.

She was accompanied throughout the visit by British Consul and Regional Operations Manager, Simona Demuro, and by Vice Consul Portimão, Clive Jewell.

In addition to meeting several British subjects invited to the event in appreciation of their contribution to the Algarve’s British community, the Ambassador also visited some of the organisations represented.
