Ninety-three years old George Bailey brought the memory of the conflict to life as he spoke a few words in memory of all the comrades he served with in the fighting across Europe.

Christina, 61 and from Belgium, decided to make this personal pilgrimage to raise funds for the poor children of Aljezur.

Mr No EarsA rural shelter for retired and disabled street cats located within Carvoeiro Cats Charity’s grounds, is to be known as “MR NO EARS’ RESCUE AND RETIREMENT SANCTUARY” in honour of Algarve’s world famous street cat.
We have the location, a volunteer group to support it, a builder and building supplies needed at the ready - now we just need to raise the funds to pay for it.

Successful Wine Tasting Benefits the Food BankThe Rotarian’s Wine Appreciation Fellowship is pleased announce the results from the recent wine tasting and dinner held at Restaurante/Garrafeira Veneza near Paderne. Seventy-three happy wine lovers packed the Garrafeira to enjoy the wines of Herdade do Mouchão near Évora in the Alentejo. Each wine was presented by Mouchão Director David Ferreira Marques and then paired with appropriate food. David had so much fun talking to those in attendance that he even forgot to eat the duck course!

Costa Vicentina Dog Show - Digby is TOP DOGMore than 150 people - and 54 dogs! - attended the first-ever Costa Vicentina Fun Dog Show held at Vales, Aljezur on the Algarve’s West Coast last weekend.

And the event, held in aid of local animal charity AEZA, was such a success the organisers pledged to repeat it next spring.

Easter Fun raises money for ACCA

Great fun was had by all, and the children were kept well amused with an Easter egg hunt, Mask making, decorating Easter cup cakes, find the chick, and lots more.

Easter Party Show raises funds for 'Riding for the Disabled in the Algarve' charityAEDA (Riding for the Disabled in the Algarve) would like to thank Pinetrees Riding Centre, Almancil for their kind donation of all entry money from their annual Easter Party Show, held on Good Friday.

The proceeds from this, alongside the stalls of fabulous cakes, books and bric-a-brac raised a much appreciated €340.85.
