Mark Kiely, the 39 year old Irishman from Donegal that went missing in the early hours of Saturday morning, has sadly been found dead, near the fishing port in Albufeira.
Last seen on his 39th birthday, August 16th, in Albufeira's Old Town area, close to the beach tunnel, Mark's family and friends had launched an appeal for information on his whereabouts, asking members of the public in the Algarve to assist with the search.

Portimão port captain Pousadas Godinho confirmed that Mark's body was found on Monday, August 18th near the Albufeira fishing port.
“We can confirm the body belonged to an Irish male citizen. PJ police have taken over the investigation,” he said.
After posting many appeals for information on Mark's whereabouts on social media channels, Mark's family and friends have made a brief announcement on social media, saying : “We have found Mark, but unfortunately not the outcome we had been hoping for. Huge thanks to all our friends and family for support and help in trying to find him. May Mark rest in peace.”
More information surrounding his tragic death is yet to be publicised.
