Portugal to introduce penalty points system for traffic offences

gnrThe Government is to introduce a points system for drivers to replace the current system of fines and licence suspension for traffic law infringement.

The Secretary of State for Home Affairs, João Almeida, announced that the bill for the establishment of a points system for drivers will be presented to parliament before the end of March.

Novo Banco chief abandons BES creditors

Until now, the Novo Banco chief appears to have had little interest in paying off this group of investors as they are all creditors to the old BES and nothing to do with Novo Banco, set up precisely to avoid having to pay BES debts.
