Évora’s prisoners complain of overcrowding

prisoninteriorÉvora prison has received another visitor, this time it was the turn of union man António Ramos (SPP/PSP) who emerged with a litany of complaints about overcrowding and the lack of services.

Ramos reported that Évora prison is overcrowded because at present it has 49 detainees, which is “more than it should have."

Manuel Palos is charged with two counts of accepting bribes for illegal acts in the Golden Visa corruption scandal and has been under house arrest since November 18, awaiting a trial date.

Swiss boy dies in west coast dune accident

The boy and his younger brother were playing in the dunes at Carvalhal Beach, between Odmeira and Aljezur, when a tunnel that they had dug collapsed, trapping the boy under the sand.
