Quarteira man was seduced, drugged and then robbed

stockingsA 56-year-old woman who lured, seduced, drugged and robbed a man in Quarteira has been arrested by police in Santarém.

According to the Loulé GNR, the woman picked up the man ‘in a commercial establishment’ and, promising sex, went back to his property where she slipped a drug into his drink, waited for him to succumb and robbed him of money and gold.

'Goldman Sachs vs Novo Banco' €765 million claim to be heard in Lisbon not London

justiceThree London Court of Appeal judges unanimously have ruled that the legal dispute between Novo Banco and the US bank Goldman Sachs will have to be resolved in Portugal and not in the British courts.

This decision overturned a lower court decision in August that stated that the loan set arranged by Goldman Sachs in favour of the former Banco Espírito Santo (BES) just two months before it collapsed, could be heard in London.

The scheme is going well with strong growth in the first half of 2016 reported by the Bank of Portugal, with over 30,000 customers opting for a low-cost account that allows them to carry out basic ‘essential’ transactions.

Police swoop on Portuguese Air Force bases in corruption probe

f16The Judicial Police force struck again on Thursday Oct 3rd with officers involved in Operation Zeus arresting five people and classifying a further 40 as official suspects in a swoop on Portuguese Air Force bases, houses and offices of businesses that have food supply contracts with the military.

About 400 police from various divisions were involved in the widespread search at the various Air Force facilities in an operation into corruption that is said to have cost the taxpayer around €10 million over the past two years.

Child porn pervert arrested in Lagos

6208aThe Judicial Police in Portimão have arrested a 49-year-old man who had "numerous files, images and videos of child pornography stored on various computer media."

The detainee also is alleged to have been involved in sharing images and videos relating to the sexual abuse of children.
