This sale can be agreed only after Brussels has given its opinion and after the Civil Aviation Authority and Portugal's Competition Authority have approved the new ownership proposal which seems now to be no more than that - a proposal.

Strike looms for easyJet

Greece - Germany hardens while the IMF offers help

greekbankThe German Minister of the Economy and Deputy Foreign Minister Sigmar Gabriel said today that it is essential that the Greek government presents "proposals beyond" those already presented. Only then will Germany be willing to resume a dialogue.

Germany’s stance, that if Greece wants to remain in the eurozone it will have to go further in its proposals to international creditors, excludes the possibility of writing off any of Greece’s debt because, according to the German, the same treatment would have to be given to Portugal, Spain and Ireland.

VRSA claims shellfish ban was based on dodgy data

clamsVila Real de Santo António council has questioned the results of the water analysis carried out by the Marine Institute (IPMA) that claimed high toxin levels which led to a ban on shellfish harvesting affecting hundreds of local families.

The bivalve ban started several weeks ago and covers the coastal zone between Tavira and Vila Real.
