Passenger numbers break Heathrow and Gatwick records

gatwickBritish holidaymakers have pumped up new passenger records for both Heathrow and Gatwick airports in July.

The record number of passengers for Heathrow was 6.97 million, making it the busiest month the airport has experienced. The day of its fullest capacity was 27 July with nearly 240,000 travellers.

Coutts to drop international branch

The number of young people in Portugal has decreased by about 500,000 in the last decade, this is in a country with a population of 10.5 million.

The National Institute of Statistics states that in 302 of the 308 municipalities in Portugal there has been a decrease in the number of young people between 2001 and 2011, a figure that dramatically has increased in the past three years of the economic crisis.

Drunk drivers kept the GNR busy last weekend

gnrGNR officers were kept busy last weekend as many drivers failed to take heed of the simplest rule of the road and were arrested and fined for being over the drink-drive limit.

The GNR arrested 262 people on Saturday and Sunday, mostly for driving under the influence of alcohol, by pulling people over at random at well marked inspection areas up and down the country.
