O'Leary moves from day-to-day management of Ryanair

Unemployed Venezuelans leave Madeira for jobs in the Algarve

According to a note from Employment Training Institute in the Algarve, the Venezuelan group arrived on the mainland last week and its members already are on a training programme aimed at strengthening their Portuguese language skills.

Man arrested for EN125 hit and run - victim still in coma

inemA young man has been arrested for the EN125 hit and run incident last Friday, that resulted in a young woman being put into an induced coma at Faro Hospital.

Diana Valério, 21, suffered life-threatening injuries on the EN125 at Bias do Norte, Olhão after she was struck by a vehicle and thrown into a drainage ditch. She had been walking along the road to get a lift to work at Faro Airport on Friday, February 1st.

Turbine fire near Aljezur raises safety issues

The wind turbine at Espinhaço de Cão, in the Aljezur area, is said to be well past its useful life and local fire chiefs have complained of the security of these machines and the threat they cause to the surrounding countryside.
