Ryanair justifies ditching its Faro - Lisbon route

ryanairLow-cost airline Ryanair today apologised for cancelling its new Faro to Lisbon service, saying it did not have the right sort of planes available for the service.

"Due to constrained aircraft capacity, we regret that Ryanair is not in a position to schedule the optimum timings and frequencies required on a domestic route such as this and has reallocated this limited capacity from the Faro-Lisbon route to elsewhere in Ryanair’s international network from 23rd April," reads a baffling company statement sent to press today in an attempt to fill the information void left after airports operator ANA announced Ryanair’s plans over the weekend.

Mercedes spent €12 million in the Algarve

Algarve Tourist Board wakes up to nature tourism

salgadosNature tourism represents 23% of nights spent in the Algarve by tourists, according to a newly released study commissioned by the Algarve Tourist Board which proposes an ‘integrated offering’ to companies dedicated to a segment that since 2009 has grown by 50%.

"In nature tourism we see the region's identity, its heritage, culture, crafts, cuisine and wines. We have a diverse set of products which are all interrelated,” said the chairman of the Algarve Tourist Board, Desiderio Silva who also pointed out that this type of tourism is good at filling off-season low periods.
