The centres to be created to speed up the population's vaccination against Covid-19 must have the capacity to vaccinate around 50 people per hour, an emergency room and a doctor in case of adverse reactions.

The Institute of Housing and Urban Rehabilitation (IHRU) has signed 26 agreements with 25 municipalities, for the accommodation of 15 thousand families, the Government announced yesterday.

As part of the road safety campaign “Phone Off” that took place over the last seven days,  the security forces recorded 16,177 infractions, of which 1,164  were related to the use of the mobile phone while driving.

Since taking over the presidency of the Council of the European Union from Germany at the start of this year, Portugal has emphasised that climate change is “an existential threat to humanity” and has given the subject top priority in the run-up to November’s crucial United Nations COP-26 summit in Glasgow.

Yesterday, Portugal registered 33 deaths related to Covid-19, the lowest since October 29th  last year.

A light vehicle was found in the water, in the area of ​​the Quatro Águas quay, in Tavira in the early hours of this morning. The Maritime Police of Tavira were alerted of the incident by the PSP at 02:30am.

Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa considers it necessary to maintain the state of emergency to "allow the Government to continue to take the most appropriate measures to combat this phase of the pandemic" of Covid-19, but asks that "indispensable support measures to families and businesses, including default and non-repayable support" are improved.
