Considered by many to be the best golfing holiday destination in Europe, if not the world; the Algarve boasts a multitude of golf courses, with enough variety to cater to all levels of skill, while also providing ample alternative attractions for family or friends who do not share your passion for all things golf. So, coming to the Algarve to indulge in a golfing holiday is a no brainer; but which courses do you utilise while you are there?

European Ryder Cup captain Paul McGinley has invited golfers from around the world to play the new North Course at Quinta d​o​ Lago - home of World Golf Awards 2014.

All eyes will be on the course ahead of its reopening in October.

After a day without wind and dense fog, fleets conducted the very last two races of the competition.

In Children's Men, José Saraiva Mendes, the Nautical Club Good Hope, had a perfect day, winning both races performed, which allowed him to win the title ahead of Miguel Sancho, Gym Club Naval de Faro and Beatriz Cintra, the Clube Naval de Portimão, who was third overall and won the women's title.

Ryder Cup rookies Victor Dubuisson and Stephen Gallacher are set to tee up in the 2014 Portugal Masters from October 9-12, two weeks after they represent Paul McGinley’s European team against the United States at Gleneagles.

The Ryder Cup theme will be augmented by the participation of Europe’s captain, McGinley, and the man he hopes to emulate later this month, José Maria Olazábal, who will also be at Gleneagles as one of the Irishman’s vice-captains two years to the week since guiding his charges to a brilliant comeback victory at Medinah.

The  2014 World Youth Sailing ISAF officially came to an end on Friday. The 44th Edition ended with the Closing Ceremony, held in Friday in the city of Tavira was filled with athletes from 67 countries attending the event, but also many tourists and residents, delighted with a party full of joy and youth .

The World Youth Sailing ISAF is about to begin in Tavira, which runs between 12 and 19 July in Algarve waters. About 400 sailors from 69 countries will attend the event, a record number of participants, in the 44th edition of this event.

It is the 5th time Portugal has hosted the World Youth Sailing ISAF. After Troy (1973), Sines (1981), Vilamoura (1992) and Wood (2003), it is now the turn of Tavira to host one of the most prestigious events of the International Sailing Federation.
