A fantastic crowd showed up in large numbers to experience a brand new concept for the skateboard community: a platform to search and support the future stars of skateboarding.
Adrian Meronk took a huge step towards becoming the first-ever Polish holder of a European Tour card by winning the 57° Open de Portugal @ Morgado Golf Resort and breaking into the top 15 on the Road to Mallorca.
The 26-year-old posted a closing six under par round of 66 on a scorching hot day in the Algarve to reach 15 under par and secure a two-stroke victory ahead of Spain’s Sebastian Garcia Rodriguez, who finished second on 13 under par, with Italy’s Francesco Laporta and Austria’s Martin Wiegele two shots further back in tied third on 11 under par.
Henric Sturehed birdied three of his last four holes to lead the 57th Open de Portugal @ Morgado Golf Resort by one stroke at the end of the first day, Thursday Sept 12th.
The Swede carded eight birdies and two bogeys to sign for a six under par 66, one shot clear of Aaron Cockerill, Christopher Mivis and Adrian Meronk, who all signed for rounds of 67 to share second place.

The final day included a prize giving dinner party, which filled the Clubhouse Spike Restaurant with almost 130 attendees and prizes were awarded to the winners. Lucelia Gloria, aged 30, a rider from Riding For The Disabled Barlavento (RDB) has won two silver medals at the The Special Olympic World Games In Abu Dhabi. Lucelia won her two medals in the Level CS – English working trails and the Level CS – English equitation.
Over 7,000 competitors from over 190 nations took part in the games which lasted for two whole weeks. It was the very first time that Lucelia had been out of Portugal.
One of the most technically challenging race circuits in the world - the Autódromo do Algarve - has agreed a three year extension to retain Davanti Tyres as its official tyre partner.
The decision by a circuit which plays host to the European LeMans Series, 24H Endurance Series, the FIM World Superbike Championship and the Algarve Classic festival, is a massive coup for the UK tyre manufacturer, which only launched its first tyre to the market in 2015.
