Minister launches e-Tax Free to speed up VAT refunds for tourists

'e-Tax Free' is a pilot project to be launched on April 1st which aims to simplify VAT refunds for tourists making purchases in Portugal.

The alert was given around 05:15 this morning after the sportsman, known by his nickname Tavinho, or Little Wolf, was stabbed twice, once in the neck.

Amendoeira Golf Resort to be sold to US hedge fund

oceanicogolfUS based investment fund, King Street Capital Management, is set to buy the Amendoeira Golf Resort in Silves.

Currently owned by Ireland’s National Asset Management Agency (NAMA), which took over loans from the Anglo Irish Bank after the founding company Oceânico ran into trouble during the recession, the golf resort remained open for business in the hope of a sale when the leisure market improved.

Algarve 'tourist tax' is unfair and possibly illegal

6237The approval of a tourist tax in the Algarve is a "dangerous temptation" at a time of tourism growth and recovery, said the president of the Association of Hotel Directors of Portugal (ADHP).
 
"At a time when the Algarve is showing signs of higher levels of occupation, we run the risk of spoiling what we have been doing, to earn one or two euros per tourist," said Raul Ribeiro Ferreira, at the XIV Congress of the ADHP in Albufeira.
